[Sponsored Advertorial] Sunplay Superblock SPF 130 PA ++ Review

Hi guys! I'm just back from my Bangkok trip! Reached home to quite a bit of wonderful products from Metholathum and I feel so thankful for all the products that were sent to me. And yes that's me testing out my camera auto function haha.

Anyway, if you think Singapore's weather is hot, Bangkok's weather was smouldering hot. Which is completely apt for today's post because I'm going to talk about Mentholatum's Sunplay Super Block with SPF 130. It has been in the market for about 3-4 months already and almost everyone I knew had heard of it! So here it is :

This March, Sunplay the no.1* sunscreen brand in Japan, has launched its new Sunplay range with a patented, improved sun care technology, SOLAREX-3. It fights 3 Signs of Sun Damage, so you can play long hours under the sun carefree! (Net Wt: 35g RSP: $17.20)

I was really glad to receive this product because previously I was trying their travel size sample until it was all finished and I loved it a lot! The Sunplay Superblock SPF 130 PA++ with the high SPF provides high protection against 3 signs of sun damage :

1. Protection from Sunburn

Highest UVB and UVA protection. Has UV Reflectant Technology that acts like a mirror to reflect UV rays away from your skin.
Superior photo stability for long hours under the sun.

2. Protection from Skin Aging

SUNPLAY has Ronacare Ectoin and Antileukine6,two advanced anti-aging ingredients to protect your skin from aging, wrinkles and brown spots.

3. Protection from Dryness

SUNPLAY has Hyaluronic Acid, which can lock up 1000X its weight in water. This helps to reduce water loss from your skin, and ensure continual skin moisture.

The Sunplay Superblock SPF 130++ PA also has a Japanese Watery, Liquid texture formulation that is light like water and non-greasy. It is unlike other suncare products in the market where it is also easily absorbed and does not clog pores.

Remember to shake well before use!

Texture: The white spots on the second picture are actually the fine hair on my arm hahahaha. The texture is watery it could be easily spread over a wide surface area. But it does leave a light white cast once applied immediately but after it is absorbed by the skin the white cast is more or less gone.

Greasiness: After application it is actually light and non-greasy. But if you applied it to your face you could still feel that you have applied something on your face. But if it's applied to the body - like how I applied it on my arm the result is pretty smooth and you cant really feel anything

No more white cast!

Earlier on I mentioned that I loved this product is because the high SPF means that I can stay protected longer in the sun. Other than that this sunblock could also be applied to the face! So with the travel sized sample which I had previously I saved all of it for my face hahaha. Face is more important right... Once I got all sunburnt during a weekend outing to Sentosa and when I returned back to school on monday the first thing my teacher asked me was whether I was drunk wtf.

I like it how it's water and sweat proof because I often go on fishing trips with boyfriend and I'll sweat because it is super hot! And it doesn't helps that the boat does not really have much shade and shelter to hide in. And then I'll also get wet because it always just happens to rain towards the later half of the day which usually leaves me drenched even if I'm under a shelter because the wind would blow all the rain in every direction.

And when it rains, just because you dont see the sun it doesn't means that there are no UVA or UVB rays. So that is why a sunblock that is water and sweat proof is so important.

Smell: This sunblock has a classic sunblock smell which I am pretty much okay with it.

Packaging: For this sunblock, I like how this isn't in a tube kind which tends leak easily if I accidentally squashed it in my make up bag. And the size is definitely travel-friendly.

Ingredient: Another thing that makes this sunblock good is that it contains the ingredients to make a good sunblock like zinc oxide which acts as a physical filter (reflect the UVA and UVB rays) that is known to be effective against the entire UVA spectrum!

Other than this sunblock, Sunplay has a wide range of sunblock to suit everyone's different needs. I will be reviewing their Watery Cool series sunblock in the upcoming entries!
