Mentholatum Lip Pure Review

[Sponsored Advertorial]

This time round Mentholatum and EK Media has kindly sponsored me a couple of products for review which I am very excited about! Among them are 2 of Mentholatum's Lip Pure Series - Mentholatum Lip Pure Lip Balm (left) and Mentholatum's Lip Pure Honey Lemon Lip Gel (right).

Previously I blogged about the woes and story behind my chronic dry lips along with Mentholatum Organic Lip Balm Series Review so if you are interested you could click here. And see more pictures of my dry lips pretty lips.

It's never a bad thing to have too much beauty products and here's what I have today from Mentholatum:

Having Mentholatum in your beauty regime is equivalent to having bread for your breakfast wtf. So now Mentholatum has come up with a new series of lip products - Mentholatum Lip Pure. It is said to be for sensitive lips as it's formulated with a gentle beeswax formulation and you could find our what each of the ingredients does for your lips:

Actually most of the time I see people applying lots of beauty products onto their face like whitening products, anti aging products, moisturizing products and so on but only 10% of the time they place attention to their lips. Or people like me would usually put on eye make up, BB cream, foundation etc etc but hardly because a lip balm because I'm just too lazy for that. Now I'm suffering the consequences haih T____T

So to speak from experience... dont neglect your lips or you will probably end up having a disappearing lip line like me. Actually I dont think my lips could be categorised as sensitive lips lo.. It should be way beyond that because any contact with raw, oily or spicy food could set off an allergy most of the time. So you can imagine how I eat my food!

My lips without any lip product.

This is the Mentholatum Lip Pure Lipgel in Honey Lemon flavor!

Texture and color

Product Design: This Honey Lemon Lip Gel comes with a screwed on cap and a slanted tip for easier and better application.

Texture and Color: When applied, the texture is like how it's name suggest - gel which rolls onto your lips easily and gives a very shiny finish. This gel actually has a tinge of orange color and it gives you a glossy look like as though you've just applied a lip gloss. However it might be a little thick for my personal preferences but the results pretty much compensates for it!

Scent / Taste: This lipgel has a citrus scent to it which smells a lot like lemon/orange, but it has a bit of a weird taste on my lips which I don't think I'm really a fan of it.

Stay on power: If I were to use a tissue to rub the lip gel away it comes off after a few wipes, but it does not leaves my lips dry looking.

Here's how my lips look like after I've wiped away the lip gloss. Photobucket

The other product would be the Mentholatum Lip Pure Lip Balm. It's ingredients are pretty much similar just that this lipbalm is fragrant-free and colorless.

Product Design: It's like your classic lipstick with a click-on cap where you twist out the lip balm. And the tip is slanted for easy angle of application.

Trying it after I've tried the Lip Pure Honey Lemon Lip Gel

Texture and Color: The texture of this lipbalm is more of creamy and smooth, and it doesn't leaves behind a greasy feeling.

Scent / Taste: This lip balm does not have any scent or taste, so if you are looking for one with no scent nor taste you could try this lip balm.

Stay on power: This lip balm also comes off after a few tissue wipes so you might want to reapply it after having your meals.

Shine: As for the shine, the after-application it gives you a shiny (but not oily looking) finish. But if you were to compare it with Honey Lemon LipPure Lipgel, both of them gives a different kind of finish.

The Mentholatum Lip Pure series comes in 3 variants such as Orange, Fragrance Free and Honey Lemon (Lip Gel). They are all retailing at $7.90 each and you could find them at Watsons, Guardian, Fairprice and all major supermarkets and departmental stores now!

If you are looking for other lip balms, Mentholatum also has other ranges of lipbalms such as their Organic Lip Balm Series or Lip Ice Sheer Color that boasts superior stay on power. Here's to all of you having kissable lips!

P.S.: I woke up the next day with slightly swollen and very very itchy lips which lasted the whole day so I guess I'm having an allergy towards this Lip Series. As I had tried both the lip products the previous night, I'm not very sure if I'm allergic to only one or both of the lip products.

You could see the affected area around the lips.. Initially I thought of trying one of the lip product today and the other lip product the next day to see which one am I exactly allergic to. But in the end my allergy lasted the whole day so I'm not quite sure if I want to risk myself getting the allergy another time.

But to give credit to this Lip Series, as far as I know all the other bloggers who have tried and reviewed both the product are absolutely fine and has no whatsoever allergy to it so I guess it is only me because allergies are highly dependent on the each person's health condition and immune system.

To put your mind at ease.. here's a piece of information from Wikipedia "An allergy is a hypersensitivity disorder of the immune system. Allergic reactions occur when a person's immune system reacts to normally harmless substances in the environment."

Am including this as part of the review due to my integrity of writing a review and do not have otherwise intentions. Just like how some people would be allergic to products which contains nut but not the majority of the people ok!!
