Dark black

HALLOWEEN MAKE. It's Halloween today! Well more of "tomorrow" for me because right now it's just about 2am. But I wanted to show you this spontaneous make which I've just done on myself. *grins. For the past few years on 31st October I've been having my celebrations at a little neighborhood around the corner of Woodlands because that's where all the trick and treating celebrations are happening! Just like how halloween should be. The crowd there just gets amazing by the year, but this time round I'm a little bummed because this date falls right smack in the middle of my examinations period. I just finished one paper earlier today!

I named this post as "Dark Black" because recently I've just fallen in love with a new song by Kristina Train - Dark Black. 987FM was airing this song the other day and I just had to find out what song it was. I've embedded the youtube video at the end of this post so it shall be my song of the day! Or week, because it is just so hauntingly beautiful that I could just listen to it 24/7.

That aside, boyfriend and I just made a last minute decision to go out tomorrow night to join in the halloween fun! Had no costumes prepared so maybe this time round I thought of trying out a halloween make after seeing all the various inspirations around.

There's this batman's version which I find it very refreshing. Tried to recreate the look but that's when I found out the model had no eyebrows..lol! And if I were to follow the inspiration.... the end of the wings would just nicely finish next to my brows! Which pretty much gives me an uni-brow look (trolled) or as though my brows had just grew longer until it's touching my hair lines that looks downright hilarious haha.

Therefore I extended the wings right up to my side temples! Didn't have any yellow eyeshadow colors on hand so I had the base color changed to a lovely color of "Hourglass Beige" from L'oreal Paris and a shade of silver-blue to blend the color in to black. There's a close up picture of it below, but I have to disclaim to you girls that the look is very messy up close~ That's because I only had the intent of playing around, adjusting the heights and all that initially - so you'll actually see lines of misdrawn eyeliners. The color was filled in with an eyeliner pencil but it would look so much better if you have any matt eyeshadow in black.

Pictures were taken by myself so... there's one or two which came out blurry but still, I hope this gives you some inspirations on the actual day of Halloween itself!

Eyeshadows and lip color used in my look! I've been searching around for shimmery eye colors and this particular lipstick from L'oreal Paris for the longest of time. Grabbed them when they finally went on sale in Watson's and boyfriend lovingly paid the receipt for me. ♡

I did warned you that it looked messy. But I did tried to touch it up digitally!

My piece of inspiration.. and a song for the day titled Dark Black by Kristina Train.

Hope you like it and Happy Halloweens to everyone!

  2. Yes it's always annoying trying to recreate a look where the model has no eyebrows; mine are so dark, they're hard to conceal so it never looks quite right. But i think you did a great job! Would look really cool as a masquerade mask.
