Smoothie King Singapore

SMOOTHIE GIVEAWAY. A little bit different than my usual outfit or inspiration posts, today is an entry on the latest (and healthiest) smoothie outlet in town. But before I go on, here's my first give-away for my readers to receive a "Buy 1 Free 1" promotion vouchers by Smoothie King Singapore.

Just follow me on twitter @Justjaslin and retweet my tweet on this blog post!
The first 10 retweets will receive the vouchers via mail (limited to Singapore addressees only).
Vouchers are fully redeemed thank you for joining!

So last tuesday evening I was invited down to Smoothie King's Singapore bloggers' preview event just a day before their official launch on Wedesday, 12 December. We were told that they had over 600 stores in just the United States and South Korea, and Singapore will be their first destination to hit in the Asia market.

Does that means my most of my international readers have heard of, or maybe even drank their smoothies before? 600 stores is such a large number that it's almost mind boggling  Does Subway or MacDonalds have such many stores too?

Smoothie King's first outlet in Singapore is located at The Centerpoint, which also happens to be the location where the event was held and I was really glad to see some familiar faces - like Ziwei from my previous Bintan trip. - and met new blogger friends like Justine (above), Stephanie and Mindy

I think we were most amused by the life-sized walking smoothie that photo taking comes first before getting acquainted with each other hahaha. Soon enough we were almost stuffed full because the lovely event organisers and people from Smoothie king kept on serving us yummy guilt-free food! Not to mention that the atmosphere was so relaxing with people chilling with each other over a cup of smoothie and a healthy wrap or salad. There will be lots of pictures ahead, so its really advisable that you're feeling full and not view my entry in the middle of the night.

The amusing life sized smoothie who kept on dancing to the beat of the music that evening. But what's enticing was not the dancing smoothie but all the numbers on their menu. At Smoothie King they have took the time to label all the calories intake on the menu so it makes choosing much more easier. Nothing else to worry too much about because it's mostly blended fresh fruits that's healthy in general.

*throws away my can of coke. or even Sjora.

Please expand to several more outlets and bring them to my neighborhood please!

And that's Justine, Ziwei, Mindy and Stephanie from left to right.
Loving the following picture because ziwei (and ahem myself) looks great in there!

The outlet actually has these little leaflets that you could take and read up all about the nutritional goodness, and the detailed description about their different categories of drinks. Be it a refreshing drinks, a drink that promotes weight loss, or a cup of high protein drink for the macho guy. I think they'll taste much much better than protein drinks please!

We were actually served a variety of items from their menu that night. For the smoothies we got to try their Strawberry Xtreme, Mango Festival, Angel Food (blend of strawberries and bananas), and Almond banana (blended with two types of protein powder). The almond banana fell short on my taste buds, but their strawberry xtreme was like love at first taste. Full flavor of strawberries and almost nothing else. While for the other girls, their top preference was the Angel food - also one of the best selling flavors in their United States' stores.

Other items that we got to try were the Tomato and Mozzarella taco wrap, Grilled Terriyaki Chicken Breast Wrap, and Citrus Walnut salad.

The Tomato and Mozzarella taco wrap had a tangy tomato taste which I like, while the Citrus walnut salad was a refreshing one to kick start my appetite. It was a pity I have a little allergy to raw vegetables (and had to pick a few of them out), but I enjoyed the terriyaki chicken breast wrap the best. It was served warm too, and the terriyaki sauce with the lettuce and all came very well together to a very flavorful bite.

It was a very enjoyable tasting event for that evening and each of us even ordered an extra cup of smoothie to drink on our way home.  Check out Smoothie King's Facebook page or even drop by to their first new outlet at Centerpoint Orchard!
