FESTIVE NEW YEAR How was your chinese new year? Mine passed by so quickly that before I could even realise it, the holidays have ended and it's back to focusing on school work. I'm literary counting down the months till I can finally graduate from the university studies.. and start chucking away all the mountain pile of files and textbooks which I kept for so long "just in case I need them again for my further studies". I think among all the rooms at home, mine is the messiest because all my things are seriously lying everywhere. But I digress.
Chinese New Year is such a perfect occasion to shoot many of my outfits - because we are supposed to dress up and go about to friends' and relatives' house to 拜年. But it just had to rain and rain and rain for so many consecutive days that boyfriend and I only managed to shoot the outfit which I wore on the first day - where we had to duck indoors shortly after that because it started drizzling again.
As per tradition, we are supposed to wear new clothes on the first day - and if possible, no black colors because the elders may find it distasteful. SO.... I'm all decked out in bright colors. And of all colors I'm in... pink. Hahaha. For the record, I don't wear pink too often because I don't really enjoy being classified as that girly girl wtf. But I went from places to places to hunt that perfect pink skirt to go with the top.
I don't usually splurge too much on each apparel, but when I saw this hanging on the racks at Bugis Street I thought I had to get it. I mean, you don't often see such cute and vintage looking tops with little pastry designs. And to top it off there's even colorful macaroons on the collar. The shoes I'm wearing was also a tough find as well, because I couldn't find it anywhere in the usual places I shop in Singapore or even Qoo10 (aka gmarket) that I eventually went to sieve through wholesale websites from China. It was the second last pair in my size! Thank god. And by the way, it's the 14th of February today so Happy Valentines to all of you out there! Lots of love. x
