We stayed at BCS Hotel which the room was totally big and gorgeous, and it was right next to BCS Shopping Centre. BCS was surprisingly good to shop at, it was like Singapore's Far East Shopping Centre version and prices are relatively cheap. One of my new buys were two mini OPI bottles that only cost $1 each, which I'm still having doubts whether they are genuine since every corner in Batam is selling imitated goods. But I'm just going to pretend they are since they were so cheap. I pretty like both of the colors!
I also managed to grab quite a few apparels like a floral cardigan (the one in the background), a long sleeve blouse, another printed sleeveless blouse, some lingerie and a pair of leggings where my purchase only totals up to about $25! Ah and did I mentioned that we (mostly on boyfriend's part) lugged back a standing clock from Ace Hardware at Nagoya Hill. The design is very french-inspired and it was so pretty that I fell in love with it when I first saw it in Chandran's house. So much so that I was willing to settle for the last display piece available in the store and boyfriend offered to buy it for me too. Pictures next time!
We also didn't missed out the Singaporean-tradition of bringing back a case or two worth of instant mee and thousand layer cakes, not to mention that all of us had also tried playing with fireworks for the same time! Thanks to Chandran and his wife, they also brought us around to have a taste of their local tze char delicacy, lots of yummy maggie goreng, and something called roti goreng which I swear by my tastebuds that they are sooo good, and to catch the movie GI Joe in their theatres! One thing which is very contrasting from Singaporeans is that the local people prefer the front seats when it comes to movies, and the first few rows are always fully seated. I can't imagine having to strain my neck to look up the entire movie. ಠ_ಠ
