LEVI'S 501 SPRING/SUMMER 2013 Last week had been a very eventful week, where I have been busy with Levi's as this blog has been nominated as a finalist for Levi's 501 Best Interpretation blog that was just announced today! Beside, I just found out just a couple of minutes ago that JustJaslin has also been nominated as Levi's Best Fashion Blog under Singapore Blog Awards 2013. Being able to become a finalist itself just overwhelms me, let alone to be in 2 categories and I can't wait to share my thoughts with you in my upcoming post.
Today, I want to write about the Levi's 501 party that boyfriend and myself were privileged to attend at Zouk last Wednesday. It was an RSVP party sponsored by Levi's and held by crews and favourite DJs from the 987FM. What makes the party so special is that it incorporates individuality and history together with denim. Before the show officially began, DJs Sonia Divian and Deekosh had some games with the crowd, which was followed by a group of dancers who graced the stage with electrifying moves to set the tone of the show - and to tell a story about the Levi's 501 jeans.
The performance was a story, where the dancers creatively integrated the history of 501 jeans into dance moves, as jeans were first referred to the miners and cowboys of American West. It was interesting to watch the show and learn about the history of the iconic 501 jeans (which I didn't really understood up till that day). As the miners and cowboys tend to be involved in rough work, that's when suspenders buttons came into the picture to keep the pants in place - as per the outfit worn by the dancers.
Levi's 501 jeans have then evolved and adapted to stay relevant to each new generation. Just thought I'll mention because they now have larger pockets with the evolution of smart phones, more comfort around the waist as well as stronger stitching with reinforced belt loops, inseams, buttonholes and cuff just to name a few.
That's what I think that sets a pair of Levi's jeans apart from the rest. It incorporates quality, comfort and design all in a pair of jeans. The performance was also a prelude to the introduction of Levi's new generation of its 501 jeans and non-denim pants (as spotted in true chino, chalk blue and mineral red) for its Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
This was the eye catching denim that stole the night away that features an ombre dye; the stylist also pulled off the double denim look paired with visual stripes which I thought was very creative.
In the second segment of the show the dancers reappeared to showcase new colors of Levi's Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The following look has to be one of my favourite one of the show because it has so much sass and the strategic placement of colors that makes it so eye catching.
The show which showcased Levi's Spring/Summer collection was full of colors and the outfits were intricately styled but yet laid back at the same time. Some of them caught my eye and it was inspiring to see how Levi's can be interpreted and be worn in so many ways that you can almost tell the personality of the wearer. This is one part which I find fashion intriguing is the way it allows us to express ourselves through the apparels we wear.

It was such a pleasure to be able to be a part of this party and to interact with the DJs from 987FM like Divian and DeeKosh from "The Double Ds", Sonia, Rozz & Bobby from "Rude Awakening Show" and my favourite DJs Justin and Vernon from "Muttons on the Move" show.
It was so much fun and we laughed the night away with all the other games and activities which they had. What made the party more enjoyable was the experience enjoy it together with the rest of the other babes who are also finalists in Singapore Blog Awards 2013 Levi's Best 501 Interpretation Blog!
These pictures are only a selected few from those which we took that night, where I have uploaded the entire album on my Facebook page so you can view them here.
