BRUNETTE LOCKS I guess it's high time to ditch black and go for a new change because change is always good isn't it. I have been keeping my hair black and untouched from chemical treatments for the past three years as I am really convinced that I am dropping way too much hair, especially after a botched rebonding job which I did in the past when I was still fifteen at a home-hair salon. (Learnt the hard way to never never never have my hair done at any shabby hair salons ever again.)
So for the past three years I kept my hair dark black untouched, except from recent perms because they are done at the roots and not at the scalp. Not forgetting that I am trying keep up with my vitamins and hair supplements on a daily basis recently. Honestly, I am pretty happy with my natural color because I think it suits me just fine. But at the same time I also wanted something new. I mean, well the grass always seem to be greener on the other side isn't it?
Therefore yesterday I made another trip down to Jean Yip Hairdressing at Plaza Singapura to have my hair colored. Had wanted to look for my hair stylist Joe but it seems that the receptionist over the phone had misbooked my appointment. My stylist was out for the day, and therefore my hair was attended to by David who is assisted by Kate. The general rule to dying your hair is to leave your hair unwashed for at least a day so the natural oil on your scalp would better protect your scalp from the chemicals.
I wanted something really light but most of the reference pictures which I showed to my stylist would require my hair to be bleached at least three times. Holy moly three times! Although I would be doing treatments I still can't imagine how much damage that would be. So David told me he would try to work around without bleaching and gave me this shade of color which is called Ash Brown. I think I look really different in this color (and finally I get to use my brow masacara!) What do you guys think of it? I think it's going to be interesting working with the new color for my wardrobe.
The waves in my hair were also achieved with a digital perm at Jean Yip Hairdressing, if you would like to read up more about it you can find it in my previous article here.
