BLUE ME AWAY Today is the date that I turn 21st, and as you read this I am probably sitting on a flight to Darwin Australia. Just by myself with a bunch of newly made friends on Singapore Blog Awards 2013 - we are getting a sponsored 9 days trip to Australia! Taking this trip signifies something to me, of about independence, exploration and growing up. It will also be the first time that I'm spending my birthday with a ticket out of Singapore, and honestly speaking I'm feeling excited but also a little intimidated at the same time. It's like an adventure of a life time.
As I won't be around on this date, I had my first ever birthday celebration held last week! Just a very small party with all my close friends and relatives. I had so much fun drawing cut-outs, decorating the house, getting down and detailed with art-work - sometimes it's just so enjoyable to engage with what we all like to do most, growing up as a kid. I had my party themed blue and everyone was so gamed to turn up in all shades of blue! You guys literally blue me away (hur hur).
I would like to say a big thank you to my mum, boyfriend, and sister in law who has helped out much with the prepping, my Secondary 4 classmates for ever providing me positive peer pressure studies wise to not fall behind my studies (although I was really stressed out at the same time), and to the Secondary 5 bunch of awesome friends who are ever so game-on with anything and everything, not to mention always taking care (and making fun) of me as a younger sister. I count my blessings to knowing all of you guys and let's toast to a lifetime of friendship!
Also a special shout-out to boyfriend who has planned a surprise birthday party for me over at his house yesterday. I was entirely caught unaware when the lights tripped (with what I thought was a genuine one) as he held lighted candles and cake in his hands while all his family and relatives sang me a birthday song. I was really touched and a big thank you to everyone who came down that day and wished me a Happy Birthday. (But damn if I had knew it earlier on I would have changed out of my home clothes..) I feel like the most blessed girl on earth to have so much love from everyone around me and this is truly one of the best birthdays ever. Looking forward to catching up with all of you in September when I return to Singapore!
