Honoré Paris | Parisan Wear

Pictures by KJ
LE CHARONNE  I don't know what has came over me lately, but I developed this huge crush for rompers. They are like, the most versatile piece of clothing you can have in your wardrobe! It's for days where I need to run errands in the day yet be dressy enough for dinner gatherings - so yep in short something that's casual-chic, casual-dressy, smart casual.. you know,  that confusing category that falls between the scale of casual and formal. And today I think I just found the perfect answer all in a classic romper.

Last Friday when I met up with Axelle, designer of Honoré Paris during their launch at Heeren Robinsons, she was so lovely to let me pick up any outfit of my liking from her collection. Honoré Paris is all about chic Parisan fashionwear, and among the collection there are also various classic staple wardrobe pieces - one of which was this black silk romper called Le Charonne from their second collection (named after a Parisan cafe too!). I mean, isn't it interesting? It's like bringing a different concept and story to each piece of apparel. Some cafes are about liveliness and fun (which are as reflected on the apparel designs) where some other cafes in contrast are more about laid-back and a carefree vibe.. If you check out their site at www.honoreparis.com you could even see all the different pictures of the actual named cafes!

I think shopping for rompers is one rather tricky issue because getting the correct cutting is soooo important. It isn't anything like getting a dress off the rack - if the length of the dress decides that it's not going to play out well it could be easily sent off for tailoring. But nothing like this 'margin of error' for rompers - if it doesn't fits then that's it. (End of story.) Does this happens to you girls too? Ever since then I guess I've wisen up and strapless rompers (or even those with adjustable straps!) are my love.

This black silk romper is a dream to be in and the drawstring detail sits flattering at the waist. All I have to do is play with accessories to dress the look up and down to occasions. Here's what I wore for boyfriend's mother's birthday celebration dinner last Sunday, paired with some gold accessories and mustard heels to contrast the colors. You can check out the rest of their second collection that's shot in the video below or visit their website at www.honoreparis.com!

  6. Reclaiming old customers: For customers who have not attended a boutique
for years, they could look online to see what is available and either come
back to the boutique or shop on line.
